This post is an introduction. Let’s start from the very beginning. My name is Nadia, I’m Ukrainian living in Austin, TX. I am a proud mom of a 3-year-old little m̶o̶n̶s̶t̶e̶r̶ angel. Although I have always had a natural talent for math and technology, I chose to pursue a degree in Linguistics, which I am grateful for. During my early years, I taught Arabic language and literature at a university, worked as an interpreter, and traveled to the Middle East. Later, I transitioned into marketing and sales. Moving to Mexico was a significant change in my life. Originally, I planned to stay for six months during the winter, but I fell in love with the country and ended up staying there for seven years. Until my life changed again and I moved to my husband’s home in Austin, TX.
As a mother, I had some time to reflect on my next steps. I was interested in solving math and coding problems and considered attending a coding bootcamp. I chose Codeup (highly recommended 👆), the only fully immersive in-person bootcamp available near me, and it was the best decision I could have made. I met amazing, intelligent, and funny people there, and I cannot imagine attending any other bootcamp. Most importantly, I believed in myself as a Data Scientist.
Meet my group. And just to clarify, I wasn’t joking when I said they’re funny.
